Paul Campbell

Paul Campbell started studying violin in Halifax with Ifan Williams Sr. His other teachers include Albert Pratz

and Bernard Robbins in Toronto, Ivan Galamian and Dorethy Delay in New York, and George Niekrug in Boston.

Paul’s playing career started at 18 when he was invited to join the Halifax Symphony. He was principal second of the succeeding Atlantic Symphony, and for three years played with the National Arts Centre Orchestra in Ottawa, before joining the Brunswick String Quartet in Fredericton. Paul has played with Symphony New Brunswick, Symphony Nova Scotia, he joined with the Saint John String Quartet to make their ECMA winning “Imperial” CD, and he has played with many other orchestras and chamber groups in the Maritimes.

Paul, now retired, has returned to Halifax. It is his pleasure to continue to teach and make music with his friends.
